Experienced calf rearer to take full responsibility for calf rearing operation at a newly converted dairy farm during calving season.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day calf rearing operation
• Feeding calves and preparing milk or milk replacer
• Monitoring calf health and wellbeing
• Tubing calves when required
• Administering treatments and maintaining health records
• Identifying and responding to animal health issues
• Managing weaning programmes and growth targets
• Maintaining hygiene standards in calf facilities

Requirements

• Proven calf rearing experience essential
• Ability to work independently and manage calf rearing programme
• Confident tubing calves and recognising calf health issues
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication and record-keeping skills
• Reliable, organised, and self-motivated
• Legal right to work in New Zealand
