Description

Seasonal orchard work picking and packing cherries, apricots and other fruit in Central Otago, with variable hours and possible accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Picking cherries, apricots, nectarines, peaches and plums
• Packing harvested fruit
• Adapting to varied orchard tasks and weather conditions
• Working approximately 30 to 60 hours per week as crop demand changes

Requirements

• Physical fitness and energy for orchard work
• Reliable, consistent and punctual work ethic
• Positive attitude and ability to adapt to change
• Valid New Zealand work rights, IRD number and New Zealand bank account
• Ladder or horticultural experience is preferable but not essential

Benefits

• Starting pay of NZD 23.95 per hour plus 8% holiday pay
• Contract picking rates can reach approximately NZD 38 per hour
