Description

This role produces fabricated metal components in Christchurch, reading plans, preparing materials and MIG welding to a high standard through December.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret plans and drawings for production builds
• Select tools, materials and gas settings for each job
• Prepare metals and work surfaces for welding and fabrication
• Measure, cut and drill materials to specifications
• MIG weld mild steel and fabricate components
• Complete work accurately and to a high standard

Requirements

• At least two years of MIG welding experience, preferably in fabrication
• Experience with mild steel is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision
• Reliable, practical, safety-conscious and attentive to detail
• Pass a drug test and criminal record check
• Right to work in New Zealand

Benefits

• NZD 30–38 per hour depending on experience and skill
• Monday-to-Friday hours usually finishing around 3:00pm
