Description

A seasonal tractor operator will support commercial vegetable production in Pukekohe by running modern machinery from land preparation through harvest.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractors and specialist vegetable-growing equipment
• Support land preparation, planting, cultivation and crop harvest
• Complete daily machinery servicing and basic maintenance
• Operate cultivation, drilling, spraying, fertilising and harvesting implements
• Follow safe machinery operating practices
• Work longer hours during busy harvest periods

Requirements

• Proven tractor operating experience in commercial agriculture or horticulture
• Experience with vegetable or arable crops
• Previous onion farming experience is highly desirable
• Confidence operating varied cultivation, planting and harvesting implements
• Mechanical knowledge and basic maintenance ability
• Current driver's licence and eligibility to work in New Zealand
• Positive attitude and willingness to work in a close-knit team
