Description

Welcome visitors at Arthur’s Pass National Park by providing conservation, recreation and safety information, managing bookings and supporting visitor engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide current recreation, conservation, weather and safety information
• Liaise with field staff to maintain accurate visitor information
• Share local stories and cultural heritage
• Manage hut and campground bookings and issue hunting permits
• Promote and sell retail merchandise
• Deliver clear visitor safety messages
• Support media, communications and community engagement

Requirements

• Experience in visitor centre, tourism, retail, sales or customer service
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to stay organised in a busy environment
• Interest in conservation and the outdoors
• Confidence using computer systems and learning technology
• Availability for weekends and public holidays
• Current full New Zealand driver's licence
• Valid New Zealand work visa for the employment duration

Benefits

• Salary equivalent to $29.42–$32.43 per hour
• Fixed-term opportunity through end of March 2027
