Description

Instruct outdoor educational programs at Camp Adair, working with campers of all ages in the beautiful Hunua Ranges teaching kayaking, archery, and more.

Responsibilities

• Instruct outdoor educational programmes to groups largely aged 8-14
• Set up and pack down equipment, along with checking equipment
• Work school holiday programmes including activity instruction
• Supervise and engage in free time, mealtimes and sleepover support
• Be responsible for Health and Safety of clients, self and the team
• Assist with ongoing upkeep of camp including cleaning, maintenance and catering
• Facilitate sporting competitions including Lacrosse, Volleyball, Ki o Rahi, Netball

Requirements

• Passionate about the outdoors and working with children
• Relevant certificates: Outdoor First Aid, High Ropes, Skills Active qualifications, NZOIA
• Technical skills: High ropes, kayaking, hiking, archery, air rifles and knots
• Previous experience working with children
• Previous experience working at camps/outdoors
• Confidence in talking to and leading groups
• Physically active and resilient
• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and overnights
• Currently hold the right to work in New Zealand
