Description

Prepare and cook meals at a traditional country restaurant and hotel in the Taranaki region.

Responsibilities

• Assess quality of food and ensure ingredients are fresh
• Manage food storage according to temperature requirements
• Consult with Head Chef when planning menus
• Adjust temperature of kitchen equipment as required
• Portion, plate, and serve meals with appropriate garnishes
• Supervise and train kitchen staff
• Maintain highest standards of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness
• Monitor stock levels and order food supplies

Requirements

• Previous cooking experience
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work in a team
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to work 40 hours per week
