Description

Experienced horticulturalist with a passion for organic growing sought for a full-time, permanent position. The role involves ensuring plant health and harvest quality through meticulous care and efficient management.

Responsibilities

• Liaising with orchard management for planning activities, resources, and seasonal changes
• Leading day-to-day maintenance including pruning and weed/scrub management
• Safely operating machinery (tractors, mowers, quad bikes, and forklifts)
• Managing daily work schedules and maintaining Health & Safety standards
• Handling netting and erecting/disassembling tunnels
• Maintaining detailed records of activities and timesheets
• Directing harvest staff, ensuring picking quality, and transporting berries to the packhouse

Requirements

• New Zealand resident or citizen
• At least 2 years in a similar horticultural role with expertise in crop checks, spraying, and fertilizing
• Horticulture qualification highly preferred
• Current Full Driver's Licence (Forklift Licence preferred)
• Strong time management and leadership skills
• Problem-solving skills and solutions-focused approach
