Description
Guide guests through Fiordland National Park, sharing stories of ecology, history, and culture while creating memorable experiences.
Responsibilities
- Guide guests through the Hollyford Valley walking and jetboating
- Share stories about ecology, history, and Māori culture
- Ensure safety of all guests during outdoor activities
- Engage with Ngāi Tahu values and manaakitanga (care for others)
- Return with guests to lodges for meals and shared experiences
Requirements
- Warm, welcoming personality with strong people skills
- Passion for storytelling with knowledge of ecology, history, and culture
- Strong tramping and/or guiding experience in New Zealand
- Excellent fitness and commitment to safety
- Collaborative and adaptable mindset
- Curiosity and respect for te ao Māori
- Passenger endorsement licence or willingness to obtain one
- Pass pre-employment checks including drug and alcohol testing
