Description

Guide guests through Fiordland National Park, sharing stories of ecology, history, and culture while creating memorable experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Guide guests through the Hollyford Valley walking and jetboating
  • Share stories about ecology, history, and Māori culture
  • Ensure safety of all guests during outdoor activities
  • Engage with Ngāi Tahu values and manaakitanga (care for others)
  • Return with guests to lodges for meals and shared experiences

Requirements

  • Warm, welcoming personality with strong people skills
  • Passion for storytelling with knowledge of ecology, history, and culture
  • Strong tramping and/or guiding experience in New Zealand
  • Excellent fitness and commitment to safety
  • Collaborative and adaptable mindset
  • Curiosity and respect for te ao Māori
  • Passenger endorsement licence or willingness to obtain one
  • Pass pre-employment checks including drug and alcohol testing
