Description

Hands-on senior café operations role at Waitomo Homestead hospitality hub delivering high-quality service to Waitomo Glowworm Caves visitors and supporting Business and Operations Managers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the front of house team in daily operations
• Deliver outstanding customer service in fast-paced café environment
• Maintain high presentation, cleanliness, and food safety standards
• Support food preparation, counter presentation, and stock rotation
• Manage POS support, till balancing, and cash reconciliation
• Assist with ordering, stock control, and end-of-month stocktake processes
• Support staff training, team meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Book and check customers into accommodation

Requirements

• Proven experience in a busy hospitality environment
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Demonstrable food handling and barista skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Good numeracy, literacy, and PC skills
• Reliable, hands-on approach with strong work ethic
• Availability to work 7-day rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
